Studies

Hide

At five-feet-wide, this study has a formidable wingspan. It was pieced together by the artist from two deconstructed wool sweaters and a few linen garments, and then felted using an industrial machine. The red lines throughout are seams and edges where the original color has remained exposed. This play of color and linework bring a depth to the work that is fascinating to behold.

  • Studies are fiber-art compositions that serve as material exploration for Waste No More’s array of techniques and surprising visual effects. Often, they are the prototype for larger Wallworks. They are arranged by hand and industrially felted to produce one-of-kind artworks that can be framed, mounted, or hung as is. Made from remnants of reclaimed EILEEN FISHER clothing, they play with texture, color, and shape with a spirit of lively experimentation that far outsizes their intimate scale.
