Study in Bone

Subtle in every way, this study blends reclaimed textiles into an ethereal color wash. Layers of wool, linen, and cotton overlap to create pastel-hued forms that alternate between foreground and background. The abstract composition invites viewers to exercise their imaginations, free of precedent or expectation.

  • Studies are fiber-art compositions that serve as material exploration for Waste No More’s array of techniques and surprising visual effects. Often, they are the prototype for larger Wallworks. They are arranged by hand and industrially felted to produce one-of-kind artworks that can be framed, mounted, or hung as is. Made from remnants of reclaimed EILEEN FISHER clothing, they play with texture, color, and shape with a spirit of lively experimentation that far outsizes their intimate scale.
