Tectonic Red

A wall hanging with the nuance and texture of a painting, this five-foot-long vertical scroll is achieved entirely through fabric. Linen, wool, and cotton remnants have been layered and felted by the artist to create a striking composition in very little real estate. Deep crimson, plum, burnt umber, and even slashes of fuchsia come through in varying shades among the overlapping forms.

  • Studies are fiber-art compositions that serve as material exploration for Waste No More’s array of techniques and surprising visual effects. Often, they are the prototype for larger Wallworks. They are arranged by hand and industrially felted to produce one-of-kind artworks that can be framed, mounted, or hung as is. Made from remnants of reclaimed EILEEN FISHER clothing, they play with texture, color, and shape with a spirit of lively experimentation that far outsizes their intimate scale.
