Studies

White Collage

White Collage employs a rare application of pattern, one of the few Waste No More studies to do so. Assembled by the artist using remnants of wool, linen, and cotton, its patchwork of linework and shapes evokes what is familiar while remaining unknown. The layered and felted fibers create satisfying texture that invites the eye to wander among the chalky overlaps and fraying margins.

  • Studies are fiber-art compositions that serve as material exploration for Waste No More’s array of techniques and surprising visual effects. Often, they are the prototype for larger Wallworks. They are arranged by hand and industrially felted to produce one-of-kind artworks that can be framed, mounted, or hung as is. Made from remnants of reclaimed EILEEN FISHER clothing, they play with texture, color, and shape with a spirit of lively experimentation that far outsizes their intimate scale.
